You can now schedule tweets from the Twitter web app

Twitter is dealing with a lot at the moment. The social media platform’s labelling of a Trump tweet as potentially misleading earlier in the week has resulted in an overreaction from the US president, but that has stopped Twitter from adding a much needed feature to its browser version of the app – the ability to schedule tweets.

The platform confirmed the addition of the feature, as it normally does, in a tweet from its official Support account, detailing how the schedule tweets functionality can be accessed.

Should you access your Twitter account via your web browser, and begin crafting a message, you should see calendar icon appear in the bottom row of the pop-up message window. From there it’s a simple process of selecting the date and time that you want the tweet to go out.

Along with the ability to schedule tweets, Twitter is also making it possible to save drafts in the web browser version of the platform. This feature has long existed in the mobile iteration, which makes it a tad odd that it has taken this long to port over to the web variant.

The saving of drafts also comes with a significant caveat, with it only saving for viewing when you access the web version of Twitter again. Consequently you won’t be able to save on one version, and pick it up later on another. Why this is the case is a little puzzling.

Regardless the ability to schedule tweets is welcome, and won’t make us as reliant on platforms like Tweetdeck in future.
