This evening Bungie is set to announce what the future of Destiny 2 holds, as well as what the next season in the game will encompass.

It’s a rather important stream then, given that the next season in Destiny 2 kicks off an hour after the stream begins. We have to admit, holding off on revealing anything until the last possible minute is a bold move on Bungie’s part.

While this move has served to generate some hype, it does have Destiny 2 players worried. This is due to the current Season of the Worthy being a flop in the eyes of the community.

While the lore beats introduced since March have been fantastic the actual gameplay has been lacklustre. Players were already fatigued with being asked to complete bounty after bounty in the game and then Guardian Games came about tasking players with doing even more bounties.

Added to this was a bugged quest that the community was already upset about and Season of the Worthy quickly devolved into criticism of the game at large.

Not telling players what to expect in the next three months then is rather concerning for many.

Bungie then has to walk a treacherous tightrope this evening. It needs to both reveal enough to bring long time players back while keeping some elements of the season a surprise.

The developer has already revealed that Destiny 2 will finally head to Europa, a Moon of Jupiter teased in concept art for the game when it was first announced.

The looming threat of the Darkness will also have to be addressed soon given its approach throughout the Season of the Worthy.

We’re sure all – or at the very least a sizeable chunk of information – will be revealed later this evening.

On that note, you can find Bungie’s stream over on Mixer, Twitch and YouTube depending on your preferred platform. We’ve included all of those links below.

The stream starts on all platforms at 18:00 CAT.

We also recommend keeping your console or PC on during the stream as the patch associated with the new season will be delivered during the stream.

Here’s hoping for a repeat of 2019’s Season of Opulence and not another Season of the Bounty.
