Cyberpunk 2077 delayed again until 19th November

After being delayed back in January Cyberpunk 2077 has been pushed back yet again, this time with the new release date being 19th November.

Strangely enough the extra couple months of development time aren’t being used to add more to the game, but to perfect what’s already there.

“At the time of writing these words, Cyberpunk 2077 is finished both content and gameplay-wise. The quests, the cutscenes, the skills and items; all adventures Night City has to offer -it’s all there. But with such an abundance of content and complex systems interweaving with each other, we need to properly go through everything, balance game mechanics and fix a lot of bugs. A huge world means a huge number of things to iron out and we will spend the additional time doing exactly that,” reads an announcement about the delay.

While this is perfectly understandable it hasn’t stopped some rumours spreading around various forums and communities about some other reasons why the delay has occurred. The prevailing theories are that this move brings the game’s launch closer to the release of the new Nvidia’s 3000 series GPUs as well as the next generation of consoles the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X.

That is all wild speculation, however, and all three of those products don’t even have set release dates yet.

The aforementioned announcement also makes note of the fact that Cyberpunk 2077 is already in the hands of certain journalists. Their thoughts on the early build of the game will form part of the ‘Night City Wire‘ event taking place on 25th June.

As all continue to wait for this game to launch it’s worth going back to the original reveal teaser trailer for Cyberpunk 2077, which was uploaded all the way back on 10th January 2013. Yes it has been that long.
