Five new ASUS products are hitting local shelves today

Looking for a new notebook today? Well you happen to be in luck because ASUS has announced the availability of five new notebooks in South Africa.

Dubbed the “ASUS Power Launch” there are new Zephyrus, Strix and TUF notebooks available as well as a new Vivobook S and StudioBook.

Our eye is on the ROG Zephyrus G14. The notebook features an AMD Ryzen 9 4900HS processor alongside an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 GPU.

All of this is contained within a 14-inch form factor.

The notebook sports a recognisable LED display on the notebook lid although how much it eats into the claimed 10 hour battery life remains to be seen.

Next on the release schedule is the ROG Scar Strix III otherwise known as the G732.

This 17.3-inch notebook sports a 300MHz “gaming panel” that is driven by a GeForce RTX 2080 SUPER which runs at at “full 150W”.

Alongside that is a 10th Generation Intel Core i9 processor but we have to poke a bit of fun at ASUS here.

“Exotic liquid metal thermal compound coats the CPU to boost cooling performance,” reads a press release sent to us. While cooling is good, describing your thermal compound as “exotic” is perhaps a step too far.

If a 300MHz display and exotic thermal compound is a bit too rich for your tastes then perhaps the TUF Gaming A15 is more your stride.

Like the Zephyrus the Gaming A15 sports up to an eight core AMD Ryzen 4000 series CPU as well as up to GeForce RTX 2060.

The notebook has a focus on battery life as well as storage with a 90Wh battery and a 1TB NVMe PCIe SSD. A second SSD can be installed if needed.

While it might not be 300Hz, there is an option to have a 144Hz display in the TUF Gaming A15.

Shifting from gaming to productivity there are new StudioBook and Vivobook notebooks launching today as well.

The ASUS ProArt StudioBook Pro 17 is a mobile workstation powerhouse. The notebook features a Intel Xeon or Core i7 CPU as well as either NVIDIA Quadro RTX or GeForce RTX GPUs. Storage is also arranged in a RAID 0 configuration for added speed.

The goal with these notebooks is to amp up performance and give creators access to the equipment they need.

The 17-inch display is PANTONE validated and has a 97% DCI-P3 colour gamut and Delta-E < 1.5 color accuracy for exceptional colors, as well as a 60Hz refresh rate.

Finally, for those looking for an all-rounder, there is the ASUS VivoBook S.

As mentioned all of these notebook are now available in South Africa and you can shop online at Evetech.
