The armed medics from Cyberpunk 2077 are getting a comicbook run

Trauma Team, the militaristic medical organisation from the upcoming Cyberpunk 2077, is getting its own comicbook run thanks to Dark Horse Comics.

Most were introduced to Trauma Team in the August 2018 gameplay walkthrough, which showed off 48 minutes of the title. The team became a bit of a dark joke as a dying person’s bank account needed to be checked first before they could be saved, drawing an uncomfortable parallel to the deeply flawed for-profit healthcare in many countries.

“Nadia, an assistant EMT for a privately-owned business known as Trauma Team International, is the sole survivor of a failed rescue mission turned shootout. After she agrees to continue work for an upcoming extraction mission, Nadia and her new team find themselves in an even more dangerous and life-threatening situation,” reads the official synopsis of the series.

This series is set to launch in the US on 9th September. Each issue will cost $3.99 (~R69.34) and contains 32 pages. If you’re looking to pick it up in the US or otherwise, phone up your local comicbook store and ask about it.

As Cyberpunk 2077 itself has been delayed to 19th November, you’ll be able to read this comic before playing the game.

Trauma Team is written by Cullen Bunn, illustrated by Miguel Valderrama and has Jason Wordie on as the colourist. Click on the names of the first two to be taken to their past work at Dark Horse. Bunn has a rather large body of work to his name, especially at Marvel on big properties like X-Men, Venom, Deadpool and more.
