The famous Hulkbuster returns in the Marvel’s Avengers game

In an effort to show off more of Marvel’s Avengers a streaming event called “War Table” took place recently. It gave watchers a taste for just about every facet of the title, including this game’s version of the Hulkbuster armour.

The full hour-long stream can be found here, with a shorter 25 minute variant also available. Aside from a reply of the live chat on the side, the longer version also contains a bunch of concept art, which is where the Hulkbuster piece in the header image above came from.

If you prefer to see the armour in action, it makes a brief appearance at the end of the Co-op War Zones trailer, embedded below.

This trailer, as well as the others we’re talking about here, are all excerpts from the main War Table stream. By watching these trailers instead of the stream, you are missing out on some minor developer commentary, but you are saving a lot of time.

While AIM and MODOK have already been confirmed as the main antagonists of the game, the pair get their own trailer too.

It seems that, at least in the beginning of the game, Kamala Khan is being tempted into joining MODOK and his team of yellow scientists. Captain Marvel of course declines the offer and sets off to reassemble the Avengers.

MODOK’s villainous speech about trying to tame a wolf cub is also a parallel for the entire arch of the game where he is trying to contain and control superpowers in this game’s world.

The final standalone trailer is called “Once An Avenger’ and is a gameplay showcase of a “Hero Mission”.

These singleplayer missions focus on one member of the Avengers and seek to establish who they are and how they play.

For Thor we get to see a decent mix of ground and flying movement together with short and long range combat.

Despite focusing on the Odinson, Hulk and Iron Man are there too. Interactions between the trio are shown off including canned animation finishing moves which sees two of the Avengers working together to destroy an AIM robot.

Marvel’s Avengers will on PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Google Stadia on 4th September. Those who buy the game on previous generation consoles will also get a free version of it on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X when those consoles launch at the end of the year.
