Huawei details bundled offers for local release of its Watch GT 2e

Huawei has a new smartwatch destined for South Africa’s shores in the form of the Watch GT 2e. This latest offering is currently launching locally, and in order to entice consumers to purchase the wearable, Huawei has bundled in a couple of other products – namely its Sport Lite Bluetooth Earphones and Smart Scale.

The Chinese firm says that together with the bundled products, the total cost of this offer would be R5 197, but it is offering everything for R3 499.

Huawei has also explained that those who purchase the Watch GT 2e online from the local store will have until 30th June to redeem this specific offer. Other retailers part of the online aspect of this deal include Totalsports, Sportsmans Warehouse, Incredible Connection, Takealot, Makro and Game.

That said, Huawei also has a few in-store deals linked to the Watch GT 2e too, with MTN, Cell and Telkom (Call Centre) bundling the smartwatch with the Sport Lite Bluetooth Earphones (Valued at R999) from 1st July onwards. Vodacom and Cellucity customers will be able to get in on the same deal come 7th July.

For those unfamiliar with the Watch GT 2e, we were truly impressed with the battery life available on its predecessor, and are hoping the new model can live up to the same expectation.

Other noteworthy features on the device include 1.39″ AMOLED display, 46mm frame and the addition of 200-plus digital watch faces. Being a fitness-focused device it also tracks information for 100 different sports, as well as 15 dedicated sport modes.

There’s also real-time heart rate monitoring from the sensor onboard, along with blood-oxygen and sleep monitoring, with the usual bevy of smartphone-linked notifications and features thrown into the mix.

With a swathe of smartwatches landing locally of late, it should prove interesting to see how the Watch GT 2e compares.
