South Korea put on a light show with drones and didn’t tell citizens

We could all do with a pick-me-up these days and the South Korean government seemingly agrees given that it recently hosted a lightshow, using drones.

The light show took place above the Han River in the capital of South Korea Seoul but, according to a report by Al Jazeera, the government didn’t advertise the event before hand.

Strange as that might seem, the reason for this was so that social distancing guidelines were observed. While that might suck for the folks who went to bed early on Friday night when this show took place, the reasoning behind the decision makes sense.

Plus, there is a video online where you can watch the entire event.

In the video embedded below you will see 300 drones synchronised to showcases messages of thanks to healthcare workers in Korea.

South Koreans were also reminded to wear masks, wash their hands and practice physical distancing during the show.

We should point out the audio is rather terrible in the video below but the visuals more than make up for it.

On that note, it is still rather spectacular seeing a light show done using drones, especially on a scale as large as this.

We urge you to watch the video through to the end when the drones return to their starting position.
