Grid Autosport will soon support Nintendo Labo

Hey remember Labo – that cardboard-based mixed play imitative from Nintendo? The people who make it seem to have forgotten about it, and most of the general public, but the developer of Grid Autosport still remembers and will be adding support for Labo to its game.

From 30th July the Nintendo Switch version of the game will support several new input methods, one of them being Nintendo Labo. We have to imagine that the implementation will be similar to Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, which added support for Labo back in June of 2018.

Mario Kart used the Toy-Con 01: Variety Kit, but the Toy-Con 03: Vehicle Kit will be used here instead. The former only really supported bike handles while the latter has an actual steering wheel and peddle.

Two Hori products will also gain support in Grid Autosport come 30th July: the Pro Deluxe wheel and the Pro Mini wheel. Funnily enough both of those products have Mario Kart branding for their Nintendo Switch variants.

For those who already have their control setup as they like the more important part of this update is the addition of online multiplayer.

The game already has some robust local multiplayer in two-player splitscreen and eight-player wireless, so this is a welcome addition for more ways to play.
