Tarsus Distribution named official disti of Microsoft Surface notebooks

On Wednesday this week Microsoft’s Surface notebooks became available in South Africa and Tarsus Distribution has been named the official distributor of those notebooks and hybrid devices by Microsoft.

As you might be aware, the Surface Pro 7 and Surface Laptop 3 are now both available in South Africa following a reveal in 2019.

The distributor tells us that it will initially supply the aforementioned notebooks to the channel by partnering with Microsoft Distribution Managed Partners and limited retailers to bring the products to market from August onward.

“We’re excited to introduce the Surface Laptop and Pro products to the South African market, offering a new, Windows-powered alternative in the premium mobile segment. The first two models we are providing to our channel offer a blend of speed, style and versatility for notebook and tablet users looking for a Windows device with a high-quality finish and plenty of power under the hood,” chief commercial officer of Tarsus Distribution, Gary Pickford, said in a statement.

The Surface Pro 7 is a two-in-one notebook that can be converted to a tablet if needed. It’s packing an 10th Gen Intel Core processor and up to 16GB of memory. It also boasts a 10.5 hour battery life.

The Surface Laptop 3 is a more traditional notebook sporting a 10th Gen Intel Core processor and AMD graphics in the 15inch iteration while the smaller 13.5incher is powered by Intel graphics.

Prices for the notebooks start at R17 999 and R22 999 respectively.
