Samsung’s Unpacked for August kicks off at 16:00 today

It’s August and that means it’s about time for a new Samsung smartphone and, what luck, a launch event is happening later today.

The year’s second Samsung Unpacked event is set to begin rather early compared to previous events. The show kicks off at 16:00 local time rather than the usual 20:00 or 22:00 start time.

We suspect that this is largely due to the event taking place in Samsung’s hometown of Seoul, South Korea rather than the US or Europe.

While Samsung itself has remained tight-lipped on what is headed our way later today, the same cannot be said for others in the industry.

Various leaks have surfaced in recent months as they so often do and at this stage we know to expect a new series of Galaxy Note devices, a tablet, a new smartwatch and new wireless earbuds.

A video leaked this week detailing the Galaxy Note in all of its glory, but we are also expecting a new Galaxy Fold which would be interesting.

Will Samsung have another trick up its sleeve? We’ll have to wait to see.

To aid you in your journey you can find the stream for Samsung Unpacked embedded below.

As mentioned the stream kicks off at 16:00 local time so set your reminders so that you don’t miss the event.

Of course, if you can’t watch the stream, Hypertext will have all the news on Samsung’s latest devices as we receive more details.

Be sure to follow us on Twitter and Facebook for all the details or check back with us later today to read all the news.
