You can now buy the Nokia 5.3 for R4999 from Takealot

Quite a bit has transpired since HMD Global unveiled its latest mid-range smartphone, with the Nokia 5.3, being unveiled worldwide in March.

With the COVID-19 pandemic and national lockdown hampering how quickly new products could be brought into the country, local Nokia Mobile fans finally have the chance get purchase the device, with Takealot one of the main retailers earmarked by HMD Global.

To that end the Nokia 5.3 is recommended to retail for R4 999.

With the device originally listed at €189 for selected markets, the current exchange rate translates to R3 880, so there is a decent mark up locally.

Still you are getting quite a bit of smartphone for R5k.

On that front, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 processor is found internally, along with 6GB RAM and 64GB onboard storage. In terms of photography a quad camera setup is found on the rear, consisting of a 13MP primary, 5MP ultra-wide, 2MP macro and 2MP depth sensing lenses, with an 8MP selfie camera up front.

Other notable elements include a 6.55″ HD+ display and 4 000mAh battery, with HMD Global making the Nokia 5.3 available in Cyan (pictured in header), Sand and Charcoal colour options in South Africa.
