As soon as a new piece of kit is announced and made available to the press you can rest assured that iFixit will break it down to determine how easy or tricky it is to repair.

While Samsung announced five devices last week during Unpacked, iFixit’s latest teardown looks at the smallest of the lot – the Galaxy Buds Live.

Widely dubbed beans thanks to the legume shape, iFixit’s teardown reveals that even Samsung refers to them as beans.

For those who can’t watch the video, the repairers gave Samsung’s beans a repairability score of 8 out of 10.

The Buds Live are simple to open with a bit of a squeeze, popping the buds open.

Inside everything is stacked up as you might expect and one really has to marvel at the engineering that went into these tiny earbuds.

What is interesting to note is that with the larger charging case, Samsung has been able to fit in a larger battery. This battery clocks in at 472mAh, larger than the one in the Galaxy Buds and Buds+.

The batteries used inside the Buds Live themselves however, are reportedly becoming harder to find through resellers online. While the repair is simple finding the gear is not.

While iFixit usually has a repair guide to go along with these teardowns there isn’t really a detailed repair guide on the website. Mind you, the guide does outline what tools you will need and the video above is quite self explanatory so if you do find yourself attempting a repair (and possibly voiding your warranty) we advise extreme caution.
