In what has proved to be a very on-brand week for 2020, the africast has returned to recap events, as well as discuss heading to the cloud securely with F5 Networks and Westcon-Comstor.

Before we delve into our interview with representatives from both companies, we look at some of the biggest news stories of the week.

The first is local cinemas reopening under lockdown level 2, with Ster-Kinekor highlighting two major films in Mulan and Tenet screening in South Africa, with a few conditions of course.

Next is a move from Airbnb to go public, with the home rental startup eyeing up an IPO for later this year. Like many other firms, it has been hard hit by COVID-19, so it remains to be seen what appetite investors will have.

Lastly we complete our news roundup with the biggest story this week, a massive data breach at credit aggregator Experian. With the breach reportedly happening a few months ago following some rather easy social engineering, there are many unanswered questions from the firm.

Shifting to the larger portion of this africast, we chat to Dorio Bowes of local technology distributor Westcon-Comstor and Samir Sehil of cloud specialists F5 Networks. The pair look at going to the cloud securely, the strategies that its customers have been looking at, as well as the value that running a DevOps out of that environment holds for businesses.
