With August coming to a close Steam has released some information about the top game releases for July 2020.

As with previous months the announcement focuses on the top 20 games that were released in a specific month, as measured by revenue generation in the first two weeks of launch.

Of those 20 games nine different countries were represented by a diverse range of developers from all over the world. On top of this variety comes a wide array of language support too.

“July’s Top Releases offered a huge amount of support in that regard, with games this month supporting an average of seven languages each. DEATH STRANDING takes the cake, with a whopping 20 supported languages, and 12 with full audio support,” Reads the announcement.

The 20 paid games, as well as the countries they were made in, are as follows. Just note that the list is ordered by release date, as Steam has not disclosed how much revenue each has actually generated, just that these are the top 20 from July.

The only real surprise on the list, aside from some Chinese games we’re not familiar with, is Neon Abyss. We put a decent chunk of time into the game and just found that it wasn’t very compelling. On top of that it is available on Xbox Game Pass for PC, so subscribers can play it without any additional purchases.

The games above are paid titles, but Steam has also released a shorter list of the top five free games. Instead of revenue these are judged by unique player count, again listed by release date.

Both The Old Republic and MahjongSoul appear on both lists. The Old Republic is free to download but has a paid subscription model. MahjongSoul is not available to those outside of China, but it’s listings on mobile platforms states that it uses in-game purchases.
