The Epic Games Store now accepts six more local currencies and nine more payment methods.
Below are lists of both, but unfortunately, South Africa and rands are not included this time around. Like many other territories we’re still stuck paying in US dollars and being at the mercy of the exchange rate.
The good news is that, unlike other stores without local pricing, the Epic Games Store does have different rates depending on the country, but it is still charged in USD.

According to the Epic Games Store FAQ the platform now accepts 21 different currencies across 242 territories. Like South Africa, supported territories which don’t have their own currency implemented will pay in a converted USD.
“If your currency is not on the list, you’ll see the prices displayed in US Dollars, but will still pay in your local currency according to the current exchange rates. In some countries paying in US Dollars may incur additional bank conversion fees. We are working on expanding the list of supported currencies. This list will be updated as we add currency payment options,” reads the FAQ.
As for payment options, by our count, there are 64 available outside of regular credit cards and PayPal.
While all of this is encouraging, especially for those waiting for their currency to be added, the Epic Games Store is still missing some key functionality. The most egregious missing items include a shopping cart to buy multiple items at once, and some kind of review system for users to provide their opinions on games and DLC.
Meanwhile Epic itself is still fighting Apple over Fortnite payments and Unreal Engine licensing.
