Surprise: The Unfinished Swan is now on PC & iOS

Because 2020 seems to be a year where just about anything can happen, The Unfinished Swan has been released onto PC and Apple devices with no prior announcement.

As a refresher, this game originally came out all the way back in October 2012, which means it’s just shy of eight years old at this point. The game was a PlayStation exclusive launching on the PlayStation 3, the PlayStation 4 thereafter, and Vita a year later.

“The Unfinished Swan was originally released as a PlayStation exclusive ~8 years ago, so if you’re someone who’s been waiting that whole time to play it, thank you SO much for your patience. We really, really hope you like it!,” writes Giant Sparrow, the developer behind The Unfinished Swan.

Most people know Giant Sparrow for What Remains of Edith Finch which launched across multiple platforms in 2017.

So what is The Unfinished Swan? If you’ve just watched only the trailer (embedded below) that may not be too obvious. This is a puzzle game which is revealed slowly to the player as they fill out the stark landscape.

“Explore a mysterious all-white landscape by splatting paint to reveal the world around you in The Unfinished Swan. As Monroe, a 10-year-old orphan, you’ll follow a swan that’s stepped out of an unfinished painting and wandered off into a surreal, storybook-inspired kingdom. Each chapter brings surprises, new ways to explore the world, a host of bizarre (and sometimes dangerous) creatures, and encounters with the eccentric king who built this empire,” reads the official game description.

The new ports of this game are available now on Steam, the Epic Games Store and the Apple App Store. Until 24th September the Steam and EGS versions are discounted by 10 percent. On the App Store the game is currently number 14 in the puzzle category.

Now we want to see a crossover with Untitled Goose Game.
