Marvel’s Avengers players rack up 3.4 billion repulsor blasts

It’s been just over a month since the launch of Marvel’s Avengers and the latest update to the game shares some details about what players have done in the game so far.

The big number from the weekly post (available here in the Steam News Hub) is the amount of times players have used the repulsor blast attack when using Iron Man.

3 481 619 987 repulsor blasts have been recorded since launch.

For those who haven’t played the game yet, Tony Stark’s familiar repulsors are the default ranged weapons for the character. You can, however, invest into both lasers and rockets as you level your Iron Man up. While we prefer the rockets the repulsors likely get the most attention being the stock choice.

The above post also includes information about the weekly updates to the game which focus around challenges and modifiers players can experience over the next seven days or so.

It also touches on a series of articles released by Crystal Dynamics which digs into how each of the Avengers was realised in this game. They’re all worth a read even if you just want to see some behind the scenes concept art. Links to these articles are below.

For those not interested in repulsors or weekly updates and are more concerned with the game’s lingering technical and performance issues, the next patch is one you should keep an eye on.

“V1.3.0 – our biggest patch yet – will be dropping soon. We will update this section as soon as it is live!” Reads the News Hub post.

While we fully expect this patch to bring new content focused on the games as a service (GAAS) model of Marvel’s Avengers, we can only hope that technical fixes on PC will accompany it.

As we discussed in our review there is a great core game here but it’s kneecapped by technical problems and GAAS nonsense. As the developer continues with post-launch content the community crosses fingers for improvements.
