Fortnite’s Battle Bus is a new playable car in Rocket League

Soon the now Epic-owned Rocket League will become free to play. To coincide with this an event in Rocket league will be kicking off called Llama-Rama which brings all manner of Fortnite shenanigans into the game.

Between 26th September and 12th October Rocket League players can partake to unlock cosmetics including a new and familiar car – the Fortnite Battle Bus.

“Beginning with Llama-Rama, in-game events are going to be slightly different from what you may be used to. To unlock the items from the event, you’ll need to complete Event Challenges. Each Event Challenge you complete will grant a specific Event Item once you claim it from the Challenges Menu. Complete them all to unlock Rocket League’s newest car, the Battle Bus!”, reads an announcement.

Strangely enough that announcement – which is available for all to see on the official Rocket league site – is dated 29th September 2020. We’re not entirely sure why the announcement is technically from the future.

If static images aren’t your thing all of these cosmetics also get a few seconds of screen time in a short event trailer embedded at the bottom of this post.

Rocket League will go free to play on 23rd September. This move will mark its removal from Epic Games Store competitor Steam with current owners on that platform will able to play, but no new ones able to join through that platform. Those who paid money for Rocket League before the free to play change will receive “Legacy Status” which grants them several cosmetics and pieces of DLC outlined here.

Llama-Rama is, strangely enough, the second crossover event to be revealed today. Earlier World of Tanks showed off its latest season that will incorporate elements of Hot Wheels.
