The jump from 2D to 3D in Risk of Rain 2 has opened the doors for makers to replicate and 3D print various parts of the game, which is exactly what Dalton W Strong did for eight characters and items from it.
Using various screenshots as a reference Strong remade the Commando, Mercenary, a Lemurian, Gunner Turret, Shrine of Chance, Stone Golem, Item Chest and Bustling Fungus.
This was all done in Blender before being printed out and cleaned up with tweezers and a lighter. The raw plastic was treated to two coats of primer and painting following the guides of Games Workshop on YouTube.
Most of the miniatures are around the size of regular dice, as you can see in the header image above. These are modelled to fit into the 28mm miniature standard, so you can stick to that or scale them up or down to suit your needs.
The Stone Golem and Shrine of Chance appropriately tower above the other six prints. While not intended to be some new tabletop game based on Risk of Rain 2, Strong does tell us that the golems have been used in a game of Dungeons & Dragons.
If you’d like to make your own you can find all the models available for free on Strong’s Thingiverse profile. You can also scroll down below and click on the name of each model to be taken directly to its download page.
The amount of work that went into each creation is rather impressive here. Below each image you can see how many hours went into the modelling, printing and painting of each.
