South African online learning platform Siyavula – which specialises in mathematics and science – has today revealed some promising news about its success together with partner MTN.

“Since January, the platform has had 897,520 unique users and 23,7 million pages of information have been downloaded. The target of having 100,000 new learners register during 2020 has also been eclipsed by 18,000. All these statistics reflect positively on the class of 2020. They have taken action to make sure that, regardless of any obstacles put in their paths, they will be ready for their exams,” says General Manager: MTN SA Foundation, Kusile Mtunzi-Hairwadzi.

Coming close to a million unique users in under ten months is very impressive. While learning is enough reason to visit the platform Siyavula and MTN also enticed learners to partake with its #1MillionMaths Challenge, which today also has its winners announced.

The #1MillionMaths Challenge, as you may have guessed by the name, challenged learners on Siyavula to complete a million math questions in the month of September. This was completed in just 15 days and, at the time of writing, comes in at 2 454 001 questions answered.

Learners who completed 10 questions per day were entered into a draw, which lead into a grand finale on 30th September. The top student from each grade became a winner and will receive a laptop.

These winning students are:
