Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles arrive in Smite in November

Free to play moba Smite is getting new crossover skins for four of its characters come November in the form of the very familiar Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

The four brothers will act as reskins for the following gods in Smite:

  • Leonardo – Osiris
  • Donatello – Sun Wukong
  • Raphael – Loki
  • Michelangelo – Mercury

This crossover actually brings eight new skins to the game with two for each turtle: one used in the key art seen on this page and then another prefaced by the word “Radical” which has brighter colours and and a more cartoon aesthetic in line with the ’80s cartoon.

As for the model work here it’s rather fantastic. Each turtle is unique instead of simply having a recoloured mask and different weapons. Donatello has goggles and some extra tactical rigging, while Raphael has headphones, for example. All four of them can also ride skateboards in the game.

The look of the characters here is disincentive but doesn’t go too far to make each turtle look completely different like other iterations. The most striking example of this is the current Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles show in which Raphael basically looks like the Hulk.

Both properties here are no stranger to the videogame crossover. Smite featured characters from the Avatar series back in July and the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are available as a single playable fighter in Injustice 2.

As mentioned Smite is free to play for PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch. Like the Avatar crossover and other premium content in the game the TMNT content will need to be purchased with a Battle Pass.
