Finally, a full Monster Hunter movie trailer

The Monster Hunter movie featuring director and lead actress pair of Paul W. S. Anderson and Milla Jovovich – best known for the Resident Evil movies – finally has a trailer.

Fans and those curious about the movie have been waiting a rather long time for this. All we’ve had so far is a single screenshot (September 2019), some posters (February 2020) and then a disastrous teaser that managed to upset countless people in just 16 seconds.

Now in mid-October 2020 the full fat, two and a half minute trailer is out.

Before you hit play on the embed below just take note that this is one of those trailers which seems to show of a significant portion of the movie. it really seems like a lot of the big action sequences are shown off in this pair of minutes.

That aside this trailer did do a lot to get us interested in the movie. The CGI even here looks a bit spotty but it’s shaping up to be a dumb action movie where Jovovich attempts to punch a giant monster to death with some metal strapped to her arm. For those wondering why the lost soldiers don’t just shoot the monsters, the official description of the movie tries to explain it away:

“Behind our world, there is another: a world of dangerous and powerful monsters that rule their domain with deadly ferocity. When an unexpected sandstorm transports Captain Artemis (Milla Jovovich) and her unit (TI Harris, Meagan Good, Diego Boneta) to a new world, the soldiers are shocked to discover that this hostile and unknown environment is home to enormous and terrifying monsters immune to their firepower,” the description reads.

For now Monster Hunter is still scheduled to be released in theatres come December 2020. With so many movies being postponed or moved onto streaming services we’d be surprised if this one didn’t suffer the same fate.

Hilariously this trailer also ends with a quick advert for the PlayStation 5. While Monster Hunter: World is on the PlayStation 4 this series of games is usually seen on Nintendo hardware, and the next two games in the series are exclusive to the Switch. That ad is there because Sony Pictures is involved with the movie and has the trailer hosted on its channel.
