Local pricing and availability confirmed for Fujifilm X-S10 mirrorless camera

Fujifilm and its lineup of X Series mirrorless cameras continues to grow, and the latest addition is the X-S10, which was unveiled earlier this week by the Japanese camera maker.

At the time, no local details regarding the X-S10 were known, but we now have an idea of how much it will cost, as well as when it can be expected to land in South Africa.

To that end we’ve been advised that the new mid-range X Series mirrorless camera will retail for a recommended R18 000 for the body only. It is also expected to be available to purchase from local retailers in mid-November.

Along with the body only option, two lens kits will be landing in South Africa too.

One kit bundles a FUJINON XF18-55mm F2.8-4 R LM OIS lens for R24 000, and the other kit adds the FUJINON XF16-80mm F4 R OIS WR lens for R26 000.

As for what the X-S10 is sporting from a specifications perspective, elements from the X-T4 are present here. Namely the 26.1MP X-Trans CMOS 4 sensor and high-speed image X-Processor 4 processing engine. Added to this is the ability to record 4K/30P 4:2:2 10-bit video or capture high-speed FullHD video at 240fps.

All of this is packaged in a compact and relatively lightweight 465g body, with Fujifilm positioning it for both newcomers and seasoned photographers. For the latter, the AUTO/SP (Scene Position) Mode will do most of the heavy lifting, as automatically adjusts the camera settings to produce images without the need to make fine adjustments to settings.

There are of course the full range of manual controls available on the camera too.

If you are interested in one of Fujifilm’s X Series cameras that were debuted earlier in the year, we’re also giving away the X-T200 to one of out readers. The competition closes at the end of October, with full details on how to enter, found here.
