Every inventory item being removed from Destiny 2 in Beyond Light

We are within sniffing distance of Destiny 2: Beyond Light and as such Bungie is dropping information bombs on players.

Earlier this week we learned about The Crow during a Bungie ViDoc, which was mind blowing. For those who haven’t watched it yet, we’ve embedded that below.

But today we have some rather important information that players may want to take note of.

Come 10th November various weapons, pieces of armour, destinations and activities will enter the Destiny Content Vault. Players won’t be able to access any of this content and on Thursday evening Bungie revealed a list of inventory items which will be deprecated and removed from the game.

This list is rather long.

  • Advanced Paradox Amplifiers
  • Adventure Tokens
  • All Bounties and Quests from Season of the Forge, Season of the
  • Drifter, and Season of Opulence
  • All Ritual and Pinnacle Weapon Quests (the gear will become available in our Monument to Lost Lights Exotic Archive)
  • Black Armory Schematic Consumables
  • Boons of Opulence
  • BrayTech Schematic
  • Cayde’s Odds and Ends
  • Concentrated Radiolarian Culture
  • Dance Party Keys
  • Expired Ramen Coupons (folks are very upset about this one despite it having no real value or use)
  • Faction Wars Materials
  • Faded Card
  • Five of Swords Challenge Card
  • Forge Polymers
  • Imperials
  • Letter Fragments
  • Loot-a-Palooza Keys
  • Lost Memory Fragments
  • Modulus Report Consumables
  • Motes (Weak, Middling, Powerful): Collector, Invader, Reaper, Sentry
  • Notes From Cayde
  • Obsidian Accelerators
  • Obsidian Radiance Temper Effect (including those applied on weapons)
  • Override Frequencies
  • Paradox Amplifier
  • Radiant Matrix
  • Radiolarian Culture
  • Rasputin Armory Codes
  • Resonate Stem Consumables
  • Runefinder
  • Synths: Collector, Sentry, Invader, Reaper
  • Tokens: Dead Orbit, Future War Cult, New Monarchy
  • Transcripts
  • Treasure Maps: EDZ, Titan, Io, Nessus, Mercury, Hellas Basin (Mars)
  • Wealth of the Emperor Buffs

Not included in this list is the planetary materials from each of the destinations entering the DCV though not when Beyond Light drops.

“Starting in Season 13, Phaseglass Needles, Alkane Dust, Simulation Seeds, and Seraphite will be no longer accepted by vendors,” wrote Bungie community manager, Chris “Cozmo23” Shannon.

“For those of you that still have unspent stockpiles at the end of Season of the Hunt, Spider will be kind enough to offer a small Glimmer exchange to take them off your hands. But you’ll realize the best value by spending them before that point, so make sure you turn in your stockpiles before the end of next Season,” Shannon added.

That’s rather cryptic especially if like us you’ve been stockpiling materials in the event we need them for an event or something like the Season of Opulence quest for Bad Juju.

If you are short on Legendary Shards, however, it may not be a bad idea to head to Asher Mir on Io, Ana Bray on Mars, Brother Vance on Mercury and Sloane on Titan to turn them in for weapons and armour that you can then break down into Legendary Shards.

And you will want to stock up on Legendary Shards moving into Beyond Light according to Bungie’s design lead, Justin Dazet.

“Spider is going through some changes in Beyond Light,” wrote Dazet. “First, Spider will no longer be selling Legendary Shards. This exchange was removed mainly because it was not seeing enough use, particularly when compared with the other exchange offers. After reviewing player balances and the frequency with which this exchange was accessed, it was an easy decision to free up the space for something much more interesting. ”

“In place of the Legendary Shard exchange, Spider is now selling Enhancement Prisms. These highly valued items come at a cost – 400 Legendary Shards per Prism – and he’s stingy with them so you can only purchase three a week. But we wanted to give those of you with higher balances a way to transmute your Legendary Shards into something a little more valuable than planetary materials and Upgrade Modules,” the design lead explained.

One more thing to note is that come Beyond Light, all gear will be brought up to 1050 power, so save your infusion material.

We’re going to hold onto our planetary materials for just a bit longer to see what Bungie has in store for Season 12.

On that note, feast your eyes and ears on the launch trailer for Destiny 2: Beyond Light.
