Store listings out release date for Deathloop: 21st May 2021

Deathloop, the roguelike FPS from Arkane Studios, now has a new release date of 21st May 2021.

This date comes after the game was delayed. It was originally planned for a Holiday 2020 release to coincide with the launch of the PlayStation 5, but it was announced that it would miss that window in August. As expected this is / was due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic with Arkane trying to continue development despite challenges such as working from home on such a large project.

Both Arkane and publisher Bethesda have not announced a new release date yet, but one has popped up in the wild. It has been discovered that the PlayStation Store listing for the game now has the 21st May 2021 date attached to it.

At the time of writing the store page for the game – with the new release date – is still available here. Should it be taken down or altered in the future we’ve taken a screenshot which you can view below.

When the delay was originally announced a vague “Q2 2021” release window was provided, so this 21st May 2021 date isn’t entirely surprising. What is a bit odd is that there’s no grand reveal from the developer, publisher, or anyone else, just a slight change to a store page.

That being said the PlayStation Store seems to be a sieve when it comes to keeping information private. Just recently the PlayStation port of Cuphead as well as the reveal of Far Cry 6 were both leaked due to early listings on the store.

While Deathloop was always hyped up as a big game for the PlayStation 5, it is also launching on the PC. While the title has been in flux with its release date Microsoft have purchased Bethesda parent company ZeniMax Media, so we’re willing to bet that we’ll see the game on the Xbox Series X|S in the future too.
