The Huawei MateBook X Pro sets standard for premium notebooks

The Huawei MateBook X Pro is slated to launch in South Africa later this month, bringing with it a new offering in the premium Windows 10 notebook space.

With a number of devices in the market already, the MateBook X Pro distinguishes itself with a thin and lightweight design, as well as a myriad features that focus on collaboration and empowering creative users to do more.

Boasting a svelte metallic body, the MateBook X Pro measures just 14.6mm thin, along with tipping the scales at only 1.33kg. The result is a notebook that is easy to carry around with you throughout the day, regardless of where your office may be.

Added to this is a superb battery performance to ensure you’re never left wanting at any point in the day.

To that end a 56Wh battery is present, with Huawei noting it can yield up to 13 hours of battery life. This increases to up to 15 hours if you’re doing general work tasks, as well as offering up double figure battery life of 11 hours while solely browsing the web.

For those who plan to set up this notebook as the beating heart of their remote working setup, a quartet of speakers are in place to help split the frequency and balance the sound expertly for a 360-degree listening experience.

Added to this is a quad microphone orientation for your videoconferencing calls, which is able to pick up your voice from as far as four metres away. There is also a recessed camera housed in a dedicated button between the F6 and F7 keys, which has become a bit of a signature among the Huawei MateBook devices.

As such, the MateBook X Pro is well appointed for those wanting to use it as their primary device while working from home.

If you already own a Huawei smartphone, this notebook is the perfect companion device, with Huawei Share supported here.

It means you can simply tap your phone against the MateBook X Pro in order to share content, dropping files between devices, as well as editing documents on your phone via the virtual window that appears on the MateBook X Pro, all sans cables or internet connection.

As your ecosystem of Huawei devices continues to grow, the fast charging technology you’ve come to know and love on its smartphones is beginning to feature on its notebooks. For this premium device, a 65W pocket charger is included.

On the rare occasion when battery life drops, the MateBook X Pro supports USB Type C-enabled fast charging that can deliver up to six hours of battery life from 30 minutes of charging.

When you are in a bind then, you have nothing to worry about with this notebook in hand.

The same goes for the silicon onboard the MateBook X Pro, with the latest Intel 10th Gen i7 processor featured. Paired with this on the graphics side of things, Huawei has offered up a choice of an Nvidia GeForce MX 250 with 2GB GDDR5 RAM or Intel UHD Graphics for local consumers, allowing them to spec out the MateBook X Pro as desired.

As for RAM and storage, Huawei has not stopped serving up different flavours, with either 8GB or 16GB LPDDR3 RAM placed within the notebook, along with choices of 512GB or 1TB PCIe SSD for the storage.

Set to be available for purchase later this month on 16th November, the MateBook X Pro will set a new standard when it comes to premium Windows 10 notebooks.
