Destiny 2 players have glitched into the latest Raid ahead of race day

Last week Bungie released Beyond Light, the latest expansion for Destiny 2 which brings with it a new destination – Europa.

As Bungie promised, Europa is home to a great number of secrets, some we have discovered (Penguin Souvenirs), and others that aren’t making sense just yet.

For many players, however, there is an air of anticipation for the Raid which will take place in the Deep Stone Crypt this time around.

The Deep Stone Crypt is a location players have heard murmurings about for years. It is significant because according to bits of lore, the Crypt is the birthplace of the Exos.

The anticipation for this Raid then is palpable and while some players were running around power leveling to get Raid ready, others were “exploring” Europa.

Through these explorations, some players have managed to glitch themselves into the Deep Stone Crypt Raid.

We have watched the videos that are currently circulating online, but we will not be linking these videos here as they contain massive spoilers for the Raid.

Thankfully, from what we’ve seen, none of the players have actually been able to get into the Raid proper, rather, out-of-bounds explorers are traversing the exo-skeleton of the Raid.

With that having been said, there is a lot of information one can infer from seeing the layout of the Raid and this presents a problem.

Raid Race Day is a big event in Destiny 2 as teams of six try to race to finish the Raid first, known as World First. Finishing first grants the winning team a Raid belt and in some instances, a guaranteed drop of the Raid Exotic weapon.

Knowing how to glitch through the Raid might make determining which team legitimately finished the Raid first a tricky job though we suspect this is why Bungie has cautioned players about declaring victory too early.

“The first Fireteam of 6 to complete the Deep Stone Crypt raid will be declared World First by Bungie from @Bungie on Twitter after verification from our analytics team,” the developer said in October.

It’s also worthwhile noting the legal terms associated with the race for World First.

“Bungie reserves the right to disqualify any participant who, in Bungie’s reasonable suspicion, tampers with the game, violates our terms or acts in an unsportsmanlike or disruptive manner,” the developer added.

So then, if you are planning on contesting for World First, don’t glitch into the Raid lest you want your completion to be for nothing.

Hell, if you’re not competing, don’t glitch into the Raid.

From what we’ve seen Bungie has created a space that will not only drop your jaw, it might just answer a few of the many questions we have about Clovis Bray.

The race for World First of the Deep Stone Crypt begins on 21st November at 20:00 CAT.

While we wait, might we suggest watching this video from creator My name is Byf, which explores the Deep Stone Crypt in a bit more depth.
