Working from home has exploded this year though it wasn’t an organic explosion, as COVID-19 forced many businesses to be cautious about the risk of infection.

This did present many new problems for businesses especially as regards remote support.

To that end, Tarsus Distribution has announced that it now has distribution rights for TeamViewer in Africa.

TeamViewer is a piece of software that can be used to share a screen, conduct meetings and more.

Through this, Tarsus hopes to help resellers increase the value they offer to their clients through technical support. Using TeamViewer, resellers could help customers control, manage and repair devices remotely at anytime.

“This relationship will offer a compelling opportunity for the South African ICT channel to provide a variety of services and features for remote PC access across multiple platforms,” explains director of sales at TeamViewer, Rajesh Nakarajan.

A new feature added to TeamViewer’s Pilot smartphone app guides users through resolving an issue using augmented reality. This should make remote support a lot easier depending on how well it works.

For Tarsus, becoming an official distributor for TeamViewer means that it can expand its security stack offering.

“We have been in the process of building a complete endpoint security stack for some time and broadening our offering to include additional services on top of security, and TeamViewer meets both those requirements,” explains general manager for cybersecurity and software at Tarsus Distribution, Alan Hawkins.

“As South Africans continue to work remotely, managing the environment outside of your local area network (LAN) and ensuring workforce productivity are becoming more and more important so the timing is perfect,” Hawkins added.
