We have been the first to admit that the launch of the PlayStation 5 was missing something – next-gen games. There were a handful to enjoy, but contrary to the old adage, more is more when it comes to a new expensive piece of gaming hardware.
As such, we’re turning our attention to PS5 exclusive titles that Sony has lined up for 2021. Not all of the below have precise launch dates, but are slated for next year. It’s also worthwhile noting that COVID-19 will be a factor in terms of release dates in 2021, much as it was in 2020.
Hopefully though we do not see too many delays, but if there are, the most important things are to ensure developers and teams working on these projects are safe.
Either way our list, currently comprising of six PS5 exclusive titles features some easy choices, such as Horizon Forbidden West and Gran Turismo 7, but we’ve also added a couple of interesting additions, like Season.
The art style of the latter is quite captivating, and could prove a nice palette cleanser for the high octane and visually intense titles expected in 2021.
We’ve bent our own rules a bit as well, with the aforementioned Season, Deathloop and Stray all featuring on Windows PC for release, but remaining console exclusives to the PS5.
We are intrigued by Stray in particular, which sees players take the role of a cat exploring a cybercity, which ticks all the boxes in our books.
Oh, we also would have put God of War Ragnarok on this list, but precise details on this highly anticipated title are hard to pin down right now.
