Dell Technologies launches flexibility-focused APEX Custom Solutions in SA

Dell Technologies has announced the rollout of an offering that should be of interest to local enterprises in need of a platform that is more flexible and cost effective – APEX Custom Solutions. This marks the local availability of a solution that was announced globally last year at the Dell Technologies World conference in October.

The company explained in an online briefing (Dell Tech Byte) earlier today that APEX Custom Solutions will bring the industry’s broadest infrastructure portfolio to customers as-a-Service.

This as is will offer flexible payment options, along with giving organisations greater access to services across Dell Technologies’ infrastructure stack including compute, storage, networking, virtualisation and data protection.

“Tailored to today’s fast-paced business environment, organizations can work with Dell Technologies to plan, deploy and manage their entire IT footprint and choose how they consume and pay for IT solutions. APEX Custom Solutions help reduce the time and complexity of acquiring, managing, maintaining, and servicing physical IT infrastructure. Customers can scale IT as needed to launch new applications, start new projects, and address the changing needs of their business. Dell Technologies and its partners architect and manage the infrastructure,” explains a press release for the announcement sent to Hypertext.

Doug Woolley, MD at Dell Technologies South Africa.

The company highlights one of the advantages of this new offering in the ability to monitor usage with automated tools. This will allow Dell Technologies to respond quickly to new service requests, workload fluctuations and changes driven by the business to improve IT flexibility.

“Organizations across South Africa are fast-tracking technology implementation to drive long-term business success. But lack of budget and resources means they are looking for a more agile and simple way to continue their technology investments. With the introduction of APEX Custom Solutions, Dell Technologies is enabling customers to overcome these barriers to transform their IT,” notes Doug Woolley, MD at Dell Technologies South Africa (pictured above).

“APEX Custom Solutions allow businesses to acquire infrastructure and services, paying only for what they use, with the ability to scale up and down, and enables them to start using technology more quickly to help achieve their business goals,” he adds.

With the introduction of APEX Flex on Demand, which is one of the solutions within the stack, Dell Technologies is hoping organisations in SA can use a pay-per-use flexible consumption model for custom configurations, where elastic capacity is delivered and measured at the product level. Customers will be able to choose the term of the usage, the minimum commitment and cap costs, for example, with Flex on Demand.

The stack is also being made available for channel partners, so those in the Dell Technologies partner community can unlock additional revenue with their value-add and increase their margin benefits by growing their opportunities, the company concludes.
