New Nokia C10 and C20 phones landing in SA for under R2k

In April HMD Global announced six new Nokia Mobile phones at a global press conference. At the time it was unclear when the new C series, G series and X series of Nokia phones would be available in South Africa, but that changes today with the entry-level C10 and C20.

Both devices are available to purchase locally and come in under the R2k barrier as devices deigned for those wanting to make the move from feature phone to smartphone.

As we have seen with previous Nokia Mobile hardware, these new phones are designed to offer solid displays, good photography and impressive battery life at highly affordable prices.

To that end HMD Global says the C10 is the most affordable phone on the market with a 6.5″ HD+ display. It also features a 3 000mAh removable battery that is said to last an entire day, as well as having a 5MP camera on the front and rear. Other elements to take note of include a quad-core 1.3GHz Unisoc processor, 1GB RAM and 16GB internal storage, with the device running the Go edition of Android 11.

The dual SIM-supporting Nokia C10 will be available to purchase from mid-June in either Light Purple or Grey and carry a recommended retail price of R1 499.

Moving to the dual SIM C20 and it also features a 6.5″ HD+ screen and 3 000mAh battery. The same camera setup as the C10 is present, as is 1GB RAM and 16GB storage. The key difference, however, is in the processor, with an octa-core 1.6GHz one found and capable of handling a bit more in terms of multitasking.

You won’t be paying a lot more for the improved silicon, with the Nokia C20 also going on sale in SA in mid-June and featuring an RRP of R1 699 in either Sand or Dark Blue colour options.
