The Witcher 3 available on PlayStation Now until September

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – Game of the Year Edition has launched on the PlayStation Now streaming service so people can replay, or play for the first time, the seminal game from CD Projekt Red.

If you only played The Witcher 3 at launch, the Game of the Year Edition comes with all post-launch DLC, patches and the two expansions called “Hearts of Stone” and “Blood and Wine”.

“In Hearts of Stone, Geralt takes on a contract from the enigmatic Master Mirror, journeying deep into No Man’s Land and beyond. And in Blood and Wine, the White Wolf explores the majestic region of Touissant, uncovering the terrifying secrets that lie within,” reads a press release send to us by CD Projekt Red.

Strangely said press releases has no mention of the fact that The Witcher 3 will only be available on PlayStation Now until 6th September 2021. While that’s still a decent amount of time to play the game and its expansions it’s discouraging that a deadline has been placed on it.

In the announcement from Sony itself this September end date was revealed along with other games added to PlayStation Now for June: Team Sonic Racing, Sonic Mania, Sonic Forces, Virtua Fighter 5 Ultimate Showdown, Slay the Spire and Car Mechanic Simulator. Out of all those games The Witcher 3 is the only one with an end date attached to it.

Over the years this game has been continually discounted and even given away for free at certain points. On the PlayStation Store, at the time of writing, there’s no sale going on so it costs R779 to buy the Game of the Year Edition. If you don’t like PlayStation Now or have problems with its streaming, it may be worth simply waiting for a sale.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is still a fantastic game that we can recommend in the modern year despite recently celebrating its launch six years ago.
