Devolver Digital launches Death’s Door next week

The latest game from publisher Devolver Digital is Death’s Door, an isometric adventure where players control a crow with a sword. Players will be able to play the game starting from 20th July.

“Reaping souls of the dead and punching a clock might get monotonous but it’s honest work for a Crow. The job gets lively when your assigned soul is stolen and you must track down a desperate thief to a realm untouched by death – where creatures grow far past their expiry and overflow with greed and power,” reads the official description of the game.

Developer Acid Nerve brings attention to certain aspects of the game such as the fact that it’s a singleplayer action adventure title with fast and fluid combat set in an environment that has been handmade as opposed to the many roguelike games on the market.

Acid Nerve is best known for Titan Souls, a beloved title launched back in 2015. Interestingly, up until 19th July, Titan Souls is a whopping 90 percent off so you can get a taste of what this developer is capable of before playing its new game.

Looking at Steam Titan Souls has 5 208 reviews with an impressive 82 percent of them being positive, leaving the game with a “Very Positive” overall review rating. Hopefully that same quality will come to this next game which replaces titans with tyrants.

“A Dark Mystery to Unravel: Track down and defeat colossal tyrants with stories and motivations of their own. Experience a somber yet darkly comedic tale, uncovering the truths behind the flow of souls, the role of the Crows and the origin of the Doors,” reads part of the game’s advertising.

When Death’s Door launches on the aforementioned 20th July it will be available on PC, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S.

Pre-orders on Steam are 15 percent off but, as always, we recommend waiting for reviews before buying and to generally avoid pre-orders.
