Hot Wheels Unleashed shows off DeLorean, KITT, Batmobile & more

While the biggest racing game on the horizon is, well, Forza Horizon 5, but we’re also extremely excited about Hot Wheels Unleashed, especially as we get a look at the fictional vehicles that will be available to drive in the game.

The latest trailer for the game, embedded at the bottom of this story, gives us a quick look at the cars that were produced as toys in the past and will be remade in the game for players to use.

A version of the Batmobile, the Back to the Future DeLorean, KITT from Knight Rider, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Party Wagon and Snoopy’s race car dog house are all present here.

On the official website for the game you can find a listing of all the cars revealed so far including the aforementioned vehicles above under the “entertainment” section.

It seems the licencing here is a bit wonky as, for example, the DeLorean is listed as the “Back to the Future Time Machine”. But, at the same time, the DMC badge is also present on the front of the car and “DeLorean” is visible on the back, so maybe it’s just some strange naming convention.

More than 60 cars are promised to appear in this game which can then be used on tracks players can make themselves.

“Prove your skills by competing in awesome races and get ready for pure fun! Drift, charge the booster and launch yourself into spectacular loops. But be careful! If you’re too slow gravity will do its job. The bigger the challenge, the greater the glory. Race side by side with your friends in split screen mode for 2 players or face up to 12 opponents in online challenges,” reads the description of the game.

Hot Wheels Unleashed is scheduled for release on 30th September for just above every platform – Nintendo Switch, PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S.

Those who like to own physical copies of games, and actual Hot Wheels toys, can buy the Challenge Accepted Edition which comes with a version of the famous Bone Shaker car as well as various other bonuses.
