Marvel Future Revolution finally reveals release on 25th August

All the way back in March 2020 Netmarble revealed Marvel Future Revolution, its latest game and “Marvel’s first open world RPG on mobile”. Since then we’ve been slowly fed details about the game but now we finally have a date for when it will be available, and that is 25th August 2021.

Available on Android and iOS, Future Revolution takes place around an event known as the Convergence which sees many dimensions collapsing onto one another. This is why, in all the marketing for the game (including the reveal date trailer below) you will see multiple versions of familiar characters.

This is also how Netmarble justifies all the interesting skins and character customisation that it will be using to monetise the game. Each hero’s costume is made up of four parts that can be mixed and matched to make a unique look that players desire.

The costumes here are pulled from all corners of the Marvel mythos with the comics, of course, being the source for many.

As a third person brawler with multiplayer it makes sense that players will want to deck out their characters to look as impressive as possible.

It’s interesting that the multi-dimension angle is being taken here as the MCU is doing the same. Without spoiling anything the recent Disney+ Marvel shows have been slowly leading up to that with upcoming movies – particularly Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness – seemingly leaning on this concept entirely.

Ahead of 25th August you can pre-register for the game on Android and iOS. Through testing in select regions there’s already a wealth of videos created around this game available on places like YouTube. We had a good laugh at some of the hyperbolic clickbait videos already made about Future Revolution, such as one posted a few hours ago that claims a new update has “killed the game” despite it not having launched yet.
