Starbucks launches on South African Uber Eats with free Frappuccino

Starbucks is now available through Uber Eats allowing South Africans to get their coffee (and let’s be honest, mostly sugar) fix through app delivery.

The announcement made through email to Uber Eats users also comes with two promotional offers. The first is a tall caramel Frappuccino added to orders of R75 or more.

Unfortunately it’s first come first serve with no details provided about how many will be available until the offer ends. At the time of writing the Starbucks branch closest to us – Melrose Arch – does have the Frappuccino still available.

The value of the free drink is, according to the Uber Eats app, R57. Oat, coconut or almond milk alternatives can be substituted in for R11 a pop each, with skimmed, semi-skinned, whole and soy milk all available as free choices. The whipped cream can also be chosen to be left off of the order. The drink simply needs to be added to your order (see the screenshot above).

Reading the T&Cs of the offer and this is limited to one per customer and only at participating Starbucks branches.

Should you miss your chance for a free drink there’s a second promotion available for a longer period. Between now and midnight on 25th July there is free delivery when using the code ZERORAND7.

This also comes with some caveats. It’s limited to the first 50 000 users who redeem the code and a minimum order of R150 is in place.

Both of these offers can’t be used in conjunction so you will need to apply them across two different orders if you want to take advantage of them both.

Finally, for those who prefer other food delivery services Starbucks is exclusive to Uber Eats at least for the time being. The order button in the announcement says “only on Uber Eats” and Starbucks is nowhere to be found on alternative service Mr D.
