Puma X Animal Crossing in mid-September

If you love Animal Crossing so much that you wish for clothes based on it you’re in luck today as it has been announced that the Puma X Animal Crossing: New Horizons collection will be available come 18th September.

This collection of clothing will feature several shoes (Future Rider, Suede and Wild Rider) as well as several other items you can see in the gallery below.

“Your island escape wouldn’t be complete without some sharp adventure-ready outfits; short and long sleeve tees, hoodies, shorts, and sweatpants all in the signature color palette of the game, in addition to spotlighting some of its most well-known residents and elements. Just don’t forget your boarding pass,” an announcement reads.

Looking at the promotional images in said gallery and it wouldn’t be clear that these are connected to Animal Crossing at all, at least not from a distance. This may be seen as an advantage for some people who prefer more lowkey clothing, but it may also leave certain fans out in the cold. We understand both sides and we’re sure that, after launch, there will be sufficient reviews and unboxing content to get a better look at the products before making a purchasing decision.

Funnily enough “famous Nintendo property allies with expensive clothing brand” isn’t even a new concept. Back in February this year Pokémon had a similar deal with Levi’s with some items in the collection even mimicking clothes seen in the anime with Misty’s famous jean shorts selling for a hilarious R1 499

Localised pricing for the Puma X Animal Crossing products haven’t been revealed yet with the South African Puma store missing any listings at the time of writing and no mention of it on social media either.

The 18th September launch date is for a worldwide release so if the crossover products do arrive here we expect them to be expensive.
