Huawei’s new Watch 3 places a premium wearable on your wrist

Over the past four years, Huawei has slowly but surely built a name for itself in the wearables space. The company has delivered great smartwatch after great smartwatch and the latest offering is the Huawei Watch 3 series, which is expected to land in South Africa next month.

Featuring the standard Watch 3 and Watch 3 Pro, this new series is set to deliver a premium experience that is comparable to that of a smartwatch. This thanks to the introduction of an embedded SIM (eSIM) that allows the Watch 3 to operate as a standalone communication device.

This is a true boon for those wanting to empower their multitasking capabilities, as well as those who plan to get some workouts in while staying connected.

Added to this is the usual bevy of connectivity options that Huawei is known for, with WiFi, GPS and Bluetooth on offer.

In terms of the premium elements, Huawei has retained the sapphire glass and titanium frame we saw in the Watch 2 Pro, with the Watch 3 coming in a 46mm sized option and the 3 Pro a little larger at 48mm.

Shifting to the workout and fitness capabilities of the 3 series, Huawei has ensured many of the most-used and highly favoured aspects seen in previous generations are present here. This includes the support of 100-plus workout modes, along with real-time heart rate monitoring and blood oxygen (Sp02) observing for those who are taking part in high intensity activities.

A new addition for the 3 series is skin temperature detection, which is a particularly important metric given the climate that South Africans deal with on a daily basis.

One of the other standout features that Huawei smartwatches are known for is also present in this latest lineup – battery life. The Watch 3 delivers up to 14 days of use, while the Watch 3 Pro adds an additional seven days to 21 days of battery life, which means the longest lasting smartwatch on the market is even better.

The Huawei Watch 3 series is slated to land in South Africa and pre-orders will open in the coming days.

Those interested in either option, can take a closer look at the Watch 3 series at this URL, as well as check in on the local Huawei online store once pre-orders open up.
