Cosmo the Spacedog pops up in Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy

If you’re generally having a good time with videogames but find the latest titles sorely missing spacedog fathers who communicate telepathically, well then Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy is for you because Cosmo will appear.

Cosmo the Spacedog is an established Marvel character that has been around for a while and even had a cameo in the MCU. Now developer Eidos-Montréal and publisher Square Enix have put him into their game.

Cosmo and his pack of pups are the subject of a new cinematic that has been released. The cutscene isn’t long but it seems that, at one point in the game, the guardians will be given a quest by Cosmo.

Despite Cosmo’s gruff Russian accent and snarling he’s still just a playful dog that catches a ball when it’s thrown across a table.

“Cosmo is many things: a telepathic dog, a loving dad to wonderful puppies, the Chief of Security in Knowhere and… angry with the Guardians of the Galaxy! Things are about to get ruff,” the video description reads.

This video also shows us once again the dialogue choices which happen throughout the game. We’ll have to wait for release to see what impact, if any, these decisions will have on the story and gameplay.

This is the latest character to be revealed for the game with many other smaller Marvel names being brought up. So far we’ve also seen cinematics involving characters such as Grand Unifier Raker and Lady Hellbender.

Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy is scheduled for release on 26th October on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One and the Xbox Series X|S.

Here’s to hoping it isn’t a train wreck like Marvel’s Avengers which was also published by Square-Enix and co-developed by Eidos-Montréal and Crystal Dynamics.
