Eskom implementing stage 2 loadshedding on Monday and Tuesday evening

This weekend while South Africans were trying to make the most of the warm weather, they were hit with stage 2 loadshedding again. While the power utility has worked to restore operations, South Africans have to deal with loadshedding for the next couple of days.

This as it took to Twitter on Sunday to share a power alert, confirming stage 2 loadshedding would be suspended come 5:00 on Monday morning, the 25th, before starting up again that evening.

To that end, it will resume from 21:00 until 5:00 on Monday and Tuesday evening.

At the time of writing it remains to be seen whether a higher stage will be implemented or hours will change, but for now Eskom has urged South Africans to limit power usage where possible.

With the celsius still high, the chances of people turning off fans and air conditioning to cope with the heat are slim. As such, there is little in terms of relief for South Africans at the moment.

As for the reason for the continued loadshedding, Eskom said that it is working to replenish energy reserves while trying to bring capacity back at its Koeberg Unit 1 station.

It therefore looks like we will need to use devices and charge smartly over the coming days. To stay in the loop, we advise downloading the EskomSePush app, which is available on iOS and Android.
