Facebook testing feature for users to cross-post from their Feed to Instagram

Facebook has rolled out a new feature to a select number of users, allowing them to cross-post from their Feed to Instagram.

The ability to cross-post from Instagram and Reels to Facebook has been available for some time now, but vice versa has not been until this week.

It remains to be seen when Facebook will make the feature available to its community of users across the globe but, for now, if you have access, you will be able to cross-post updates containing photos and videos to Instagram too.

This feature may not appeal to the average user, but for content creators, businesses and websites like our own, it could prove quite useful and a time saver to avoid switching between applications.

As mentioned the feature is only available to a select few at this stage, but when it becomes more widely available, you will of course need to have your Facebook profiles linked to a personal, creator or business account on Instagram.

We unfortunately do not have access to the feature at the time of writing, but TechCrunch has explained how it works.

“If available, you’ll see the feature in Facebook’s compose box where you create posts. The new toggle appears besides those for editing the audience for your post and creating a new album,” notes the publication.

“When tapped, you’ll be taken to a new screen where you can choose to share the individual Facebook post to your connected Instagram account, as well. The screen informs you this option will only apply to the post in question — it won’t become the default setting going forward,” TechCrunch adds.

With this month’s Facebook outage showcasing how dependent people are on the company’s various platforms, further integration between services will no doubt increase said dependency.
