This weekend’s DC FanDome was dominated by Batman

DC held its second FanDome event this weekend, serving up looks at the myriad pop culture properties that the Warner Bros-owned company is working on.

While there was not a single theme to FanDome per se, it was clear which character dominated throughout the live stream – Batman.

Outside of a main trailer for the Battinson-led project that’s set for a release on 4th March 2022, the Caped Crusader featured in several other formats.

This includes a teaser for the Flashopint film that is still in development, as well as the rest of the Bat family in a closer look at the Court of Owls storyline for Gotham Knights, along with something for the younger audience in the form of the animated series Batwheels.

While the Flashpoint film looks intriguing, as does the prospect of rebooting the DCEU that has proved mixed to date, it has to be the latest trailer for The Batman that has our attention.

It served up a better look at this version of the Dark Knight, which by all accounts is the most unhinged we have seen on the screen to date, clearly working through some anger issues as he is in the second of this “criminal experiment” as director Matt Reeves terms it.

We also saw more of Selina Kyle/Catwoman, The Riddler and Alfred, as well as the overall colour palette that this film is aiming for.

With quite some time between now and the 4th March 2022 release, there will no doubt be more information regarding the film’s release.

While any tidbits are welcome given our love for the character, hopefully Warner Bros. saves something for the theatres, which it failed to do for Batman vs. Superman and the Justice League films.

Scroll down further and hit play on the four trailers below.
