Bungie is selling a Nerf Gjallarhorn, but you have to earn it in-game first

Tuesday saw the launch of the Bungie 30th Anniversary event in Destiny 2 which brought with it the legendary Gjallarhorn Exotic Rocket Launcher.

Not only can you get the gun in-game by completing the new Dungeon, Grasp of Avarice and the associated quest, but you can also unlock a Nerf version of the gun for purchase.

That’s right, there is an official Nerf Destiny Gjallarhorn Blaster and it measures in at 4ft or just over a metre.

What has us excited about this Nerf version of the weapon is the fact that it fires the iconic Wolfpack rounds, sorta. According to a description on the Bungie Store page, the Nerf gun is able to shoot three nerf darts at once.

When you need to reload, the Gjallarhorn is reloaded via a breach loading mechanism, much like how it is reloaded in the game.

As mentioned this Nerf version of the weapon can only be unlocked for purchase by earning Gjallarhorn in game. The Dungeon, Grasp of Avarice, is rather fun but we highly recommend going through with a team, and watch out for the traps.

Once you’ve unlocked Gjallarhorn in game you can then head to Bungie Rewards and purchase the dart blaster for $160 (~R2 500). However, pre-orders only open in “late 2022” and the deadline to purchase is 31st December 2022.

Players will need to earn Gjallarhorn in-game before 1st August 2022 so there is some time left to save up your money and earn the gun.

Do we need a metre long Nerf gun? No. Do we have a place to put a working 1:1 scale replica of the Gjallarhorn? Also no. Do we want this despite both of those facts? Absolutely so if you don’t mind we have a Dungeon to clear.
