When God of War 2018 came out it was lauded as one of the best looking games ever, and when its PC port arrives in a couple of months players will need to know what hardware is required.
Thankfully Santa Monica Studio and Sony have now released this information and done so in the best way possible by providing the expected resolution and FPS associated with certain hardware combinations.
The middle of the road option here is called “high” and aims for 1080p at 60FPS with the “original” graphics preset. For this experience a GTX 1070 or RX 5600 XT will be needed paired with a i7-4770K or Ryzen 7 2700. 8GB of RAM, Windows 10 and 70GB of storage space are also required.
With component shortages still prevalent and expected to continue into next year and beyond, we’re thankful that these requirements here are still using older hardware.
Sure things get more hectic as you bump up the resolution and settings, but we’re sure a lot of people will be able to have a great time here.

Along with the PC specs there’s also a new trailer showing off features we can expect for this port.
Nvidia DLSS, Nvidia Reflex, higher resolution shadows and improved screen space reflections are all listed in the trailer.
It will be interesting to see how much performance can be squeezed out of DLSS, especially when it comes to playing at a higher resolution compared to what is laid out in the table above.
In the announcement of all of this we also learn about some added features now shown in the trailer, such as AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution (FSR) and many other enhanced graphical options.
“Higher-resolution shadows, improved screen space reflections, enhanced Ground Truth Ambient Occlusion (GTAO) and Screen Space Directional Occlusion (SSDO), alongside highly detailed assets and rendering solutions means God of War on PC will be a beautiful, crisp visual experience,” the announcement reads.
God of War launches on PC come 14th January 2022 where it will be available through Steam and the Epic Games Store both of which have favourable localised pricing.
