Mafia City is a rather infamous mobile game for its ludicrous adverts but it is being given an air of legitimacy with a recently-announced crossover with the much beloved Yakuza series.
To coincide with the event a promotion is also being run with awards given to players depending on how many people register.
“The Mafia City x YAKUZA Cross-over Event has launched! Register your account anytime from now until December 16th at 23:59 (UTC) to receive the limited rewards!” an announcement reads.
The wording here is a bit confusing. The event for registration and its rewards runs until 16th December. The crossover event with Yakuza, however, only starts after that on 17th December.
The ultimate goal is to get one million registrations but there are several available tiers available before then as well as rewards for linking accounts:
- 100 000 registrations: 100 Gold, 1 X Lv. 4 Optional Resource Chest
- 300 000 registrations: 150 Gold, 2 X 20 000 leaders EXP
- 500 000 registrations: 200 Gold, 3 X 1-Hr Speedup
- 1 000 000 registrations: 100 Gold, 1 X Cross-Over Registration Oath Gift (200 Gold), 1 X Cross-Over Title (30 day)

At the time of writing 353 103 registrations have already come in. Considering that it has been only a handful of hours since they opened, it looks like the million mark will be reached rather soon.
“Note: The Registration Rewards will be sent to players via Mail after the Registration event is over. For players whose Mansion is Lv.10 or above, please make sure to pay attention to your Mail content,” reads the fine print right at the bottom of the page.
