Before it had even launched officially, MoyaPayD had racked up 100 000 users. Since then the app has grown its user base to 6.5 million users every month.

Now, the app has launched a business portal that gives businesses the ability to facilitate payments whether in face to face trading or online.

Payment acceptance fees are reportedly low but the real draw is that the Moya App doesn’t use airtime or data bundles and can even be accessed with zero credit on your smartphone.

Customers can make payments using Mastercard, FNB Pay, RMB Pay, Capitec, Nedbank, Absa, Standard Bank and VodaPay.

“For businesses this means that instant sales are possible, and they don’t have to send a customer to another online portal to make a sale. This will be a game changer for our market, who need to make their business processes as simple and friction-free as possible,” explains Lentell.

“We have also ensured that the Business Portal has been integrated with our core service within Moya, which is chat,” the CEO adds.

The solution requires no specialised point-of-sale devices and businesses can also pay employees via their MoyaPayD account for a fixed fee.
