Imgur kicks off Art Crawl for 2022

Imgur, the image sharing site best known as a sister site to and image host for Reddit, has started another Art Crawl event to inspire users to share their work.

From now until 25th January anyone using any medium is encourage to partake to win some small prizes.

“Once again, we want you to get crafty, and show us what you’re capable of. From woodworkers to musicians, photographers, painters, comic artists, and sewists — if you make it, share it! Creativity takes courage. For taking the plunge and presenting your work to the world, you’ll earn the beautiful Art Crawl 2022 trophy when you share your post to the #artcrawl tag,” the announcement reads.

The small prize is a $100 (~R1 526) voucher which can be used on the Imgur Store. Three winners chosen by judges will win this voucher with a few runner-ups to receive Imgur Emerald, the premium subscription to the site which removes ads and adds in some small features not available to regular users.

The event has only been going for less than a day at this point but we’ve been exploring the #artcrawl tag and found some great pieces such as this King of the Hill drawing, remakes of old games in Unreal Engine, knitted animals and more.

We’re sure the number of entries will grow much larger as the week progresses and we get closer to the 25th January end date.

Before entering it’s worth mentioning the terms and conditions, which are summed up in a small image here. Users in the EU need to take special note of privacy laws which may prevent them from winning a prize, so they should be aware of that little niggle.

Aside from the key art for the contest above, Imgur has also provided a small gallery of images to inspire people, which you can see below:
