Sony drops story trailer for Horizon Forbidden West with a month to go before release

We are a little under a month until Horizon Forbidden West makes its debut on the PS5 and PS4 on 18th February. The game has suffered some delays since its initial announcement, but nonetheless remains an important exclusive title for Sony this year.

In order to keep the interest going, a new story trailer for the game has been published on the PlayStation YouTube channel.

While being relatively short at three minutes, likely keeping key plot points a surprise until the actual console release, the story trailer does cover some of the broader strokes that the protagonist Aloy will be involved in for Forbidden West.

To that end, she must journey Westward, as the the title would suggest, in an effort to help save her people once again, with the land dying, violent storms brewing, vegetation failing to grow and machines starting to go berserk.

“The next chapter of Aloy’s story begins on February 18, and she’ll face a storm of new threats: a world-ending blight, Regalla and her rebels, Sylens and his machinations… plus many new dangers that have yet to be revealed,” explains a short post on the PlayStation Blog site.

“But as she ventures into the frontier of the Forbidden West, Aloy won’t face these perils alone. She’ll be joined by companions both fresh and familiar, including stalwarts like Varl and Erend, along with new allies like Zo, Alva, and Kotallo,” it adds.

One of the stellar PlayStation exclusives in recent memory when it released on the PS4 in 2017, it will be interesting to see if developer Guerilla Games can repeat the feat with Horizon Forbidden West and what the power of the PS5 console can do to improve what was previously a visually stunning title.

If the below trailer is anything to go by, the sequel to the 2017 hit will at least prove visually compelling.
