DBE: More assistant jobs are coming

The Department of Basic Education (DBE) has alerted job seekers to the fact that more assistant jobs are going to be open soon and that they should be ready on its job portal.

This news comes to us from the official DBE News Twitter account which states that “opportunities are coming up” for Education Assistants (EA) and General School Assistants (GSA).

Those interested should register themselves on the SA Youth portal where job positions and other opportunities will be listed.

Due to the fact that these jobs are limited with such high demand, the DBE recommends that applicants are registered on the portal and are ready to apply ASAP once the openings become available.

“Are you registered on sayouth.mobi? Do you know your password? Are your contact details up to date? Is your address correct?” the department writes.

To further make sure that all applicants are ready to go the DBE also recommends not being caught with an incorrect password and provides steps to reset it:

  1. “Go to sayouth.mobi
  2. Click on ‘Login’
  3. Click on ‘I forgot my username / password’
  4. Choose how to reset your password: Reset with SMS (only works if you have the same phone number you registered with), Reset with email (only works if you registered with the same email address) [or] Reset with my security question (only available if you’ve set it up on your last visit)
  5. Open the link and reset your password.”

For those still struggling with registration, passwords, applications or anything else, it’s pointed out that they can call the toll free hotline on 0800727272. This line is open Monday to Friday from 09:00 to 16:30.

With the unemployment rate in South Africa currently sitting at 34.5 percent, hopefully this initiative will help people find careers in the education sector. It’s also nice to see that the portal and hotline are free from fees to make the process even easier for everyone.
